Day 4: COMFORT

"Take comfort in the fact that _______"...comfort looks different for everyone.

I think the best part of art is it can put something in front of you and help you see it, or engage with it, differently. Like these writing exercises and One Word. Stop, dear friend, and look at this word. Like a photographer captures an object or moment in time -- freeze, remove distractions and the march of time and the buzz of people -- quiet the mind and take it in. Breathe, focus, see something you hadn't before. If today's snapshot is 'comfort' what do I see...

- that I haven't wasted my life

- there's still time to do the things I want

- and explore more of what those are

- I take comfort in the fact that as I age, the pressures of others are falling away and there is a quiet place for me to discover and decide to my own life.

What do you take comfort in today? Stop, breathe, let that question sink in and speak to you...
